Miami Dolphins 2010

In his third year as the head man of the Miami Dolphins, head coach Tony Sparano is looking to take his team to past the 7-9 record last season but will have to close what was perceived as the most porous secondary in football. That being said, the Dolphins have turned to former Denver defensive coordinator Mike Nolan who has begun implementing a hybrid version of the 3-4 defense that is surely to include phases of his 2-4-5 defensive scheme that should keep offense’s on guard.

In the draft, the franchise selected Penn State DE Jared Odrick with the 28th overall selection, Koa Misi, a Utah OLB with the 40th overall selection and Ole Miss G John Jerry with the 73rd overall selection.

Fourth string QB Chad Pennington has recovered from his shoulder surgery and claims he is at pre-draft levels in almost every category. "I feel really good, just trying to get back athletically to where I was as a rookie," said Pennington, 34. "I think that’s where you can really make some strides. Just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean you can’t hit those numbers again."

In a trade that brought WR Brandon Marshall to the Dolphins from Denver, Marshall has been his own worst critic recently as the team moves through scrimmages. Marshall dropped a couple of catchable passes. "No excuses," Marshall said. "I was brought in here to make those plays. … I didn’t prepare myself coming out today, mentally or physically, and I am disappointed. Disappointed in my play and disappointed in the way I let my teammates down."

Be sure to get your tickets to the next Dolphins game and cheer your team on to victory!
