Roster cuts loom after final preseason game
The Miami Dolphins will host the Tennessee Titans tonight in the final preseason game for both teams tonight in the newly renamed Hard Rock Stadium but don’t expect to see too much of starters who have won their jobs over. One of the positions that are still being scrutinized is the tight end position. Expect to see a lot more possessions to the starting tight ends, Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims who have both dropped their share of passes in the preseason, managing only six catches for 34 yards.
“I’m starting to get a good feel for what he (Cameron) likes,” head coach Adam Gase said Tuesday. “I’ve had a lot of conversations with him over the last couple of weeks as far as, ‘What do we need to do different that I can get you a little bit in a rhythm?’ I feel like we’re kind of starting to hit some of those things.”
“I think they’ll be a little more impactful than what they’ve been,” Gase added.
The team must get down to the NFL mandatory 53 players by 4 PM Saturday afternoon so this final game will mean a lot to some of those still on the bubble. Look for the third TE slot to garner attention with MarQueis Gray, Dominique Jones and Thomas Durate all fighting for the spot. Also look for the final receiver slots to be battled over by Leonte Caroo and Jakeem Grant as well as the backup safety position. Expect to see rookie RB Kenyon Drake to see minutes in his first preseason game.

The Miami Dolphins were not happy about leaving the field in Florida with a three point 23-20 loss to the Jaguars. Taking it the hardest is DE Oliver Vernon who was hit with an Unnecessary Roughness flag that made a near impossible kick very probable for Kicker Jason Myers.
“It was just a dumb play by me,” Vernon said. “That was it. We lost. It’s over with man. They played better ball than us. I take full responsibilities for my actions, on to the next week.”
The Dolphins have little time to ponder the loss as they must now prepare to host the visiting Buffalo Bills. Plenty of affordable tickets and great seats are still available so be sure to get yours today and help cheer on your Miami Dolphins
One of the many things the 2014 version of the Miami Dolphins need to improve upon is Special Teams. With the less than spectacular season from the spectacularly paid Wide-out Mike Wallace, the organization may be considering him for Kick Return duties.
“I might get back there for kickoff returns,” NFL Writer Gregg Rosenthal reported that Wallace told Neil Reynolds for an interview that will air on Sky Sports in the UK. “I just want to be on the field making an impact for my team. I’ve always wanted to return kicks ever since I’ve been in the NFL.”
